Greetings to all NAADAM scholars,

We are writing this message to all our scholars on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of our beloved leader Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. We are really fortunate to be the heirs of our beloved leader who single handedly, moulded our future. He has gone through in all his life so many difficulties, hardships, humiliations. He faced them boldly, courageously. He never gave up his hope. He sacrificed his life for us.

He was born for us. He was a genius. Almost 100 years ago he sailed to UK to study law and economics and went to USA for doctorate. He did all this with borrowed money. He always focused to fight for our rights and our future. The lesson to learn from his life is to walk in his foot steps.

I am giving below some of the QUOTES of our beloved leader Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. These will help us learn. I want you to know that because of the Constitution and the reservation, I am the beneficiary of the changes that happened in constitution. This helped me to get education and knowledge and enriched myself. So I want to give back to my community. In this process the NAADAM was created. Now you all are beneficiaries of this organization. You all also take the similar programs for our community.

"My final words of advice to you are educate, agitate and organize; have faith in yourself. With justice on our side I do not see how we can loose our battle. The battle to me is a matter of joy. The battle is in the fullest sense spiritual. There is nothing material or social in it. For ours is a battle not for wealth or for power. It is battle for freedom. It is the battle of reclamation of human personality."

"Learn to live in this world with self-respect. You should always cherish some ambition of doing something in this world. But remember that the age of selflessness has ended. A new epoch is set in. All things are now possible because of your being able to participate in the politics and legislature of your country."

"In every country the intellectual class is the most influential class. This is the class foresee, adviseand lead. In no country does the mass of the people live the life for intelligent thought and action. It is largely imitative and follows the intellectual class. There is no exaggeration in saying that the entire destination of the country depends upon its intellectual class. If the intellectual class is honest and independent, it can be trusted to take the initiative and give a proper lead when a crisis arises. It is true that the intellect by itself is no virtue. It is only a means and the use of a means depends upon the ends which an intellectual person pursues. An intellectual man can be a good man but he may easily be a rogue. Similarly an intellectual class may be a band of high-souled persons, ready to help, ready to emancipate erring humanity or it may easily be a gang of crooks or a body of advocates of narrow clique from which it draws its support."

Now you all are intelligent people. You are also lucky people because first you are direct beneficiaries of reservations and secondly you are beneficiaries of NAADAM. Life is beautiful and you should make it more beautiful. You are the driver of your life. Lead a better life and give back to your community. Do not forget where you come from.

With blessings

Dr. Devaiah Pagidipati
